Ever since the mostly peaceful election justice protest of January 6, 2021, the FBI and other federal agencies have been violating the civil liberties of Trump supporters across the country. In a move that has gotten almost no media coverage, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) started establishing secret police offices in states far away from Washington, DC. These secret police work directly for the US Capitol Police (USCP), which are basically the House Speaker’s private police force.
Why is this happening? And why does America need yet another secret federal law enforcement body to trample our rights when we already have the FBI, the ATF, the IRS, and plenty of other alphabet agencies?
One satellite office of the USCP opened up in Nancy Pelosi’s home district in San Francisco in 2021. One of the duties of the USCP is to protect Members of Congress and to forward threats against them to the FBI. It’s unclear what the USCP is doing in San Francisco, however, since they couldn’t even stop a homeless Canadian man with a pair of inflatable unicorn costumes from breaking into Nancy’s home and bashing Paul Pelosi in the head with a hammer.
The other initial satellite office opened in Tampa, FL. Florida Republican congressmen Matt Gaetz and Anthony Sabatini both tried to block the Capitol Police from opening the office there, but it happened anyway. Shortly after the Tampa office opened, the FBI and the Department of Justice began mass arrests of Floridians who had peacefully protested at the US Capitol on January 6th.
More than 100 Floridians have had their homes raided by the FBI, and they’ve been arrested for non-violent crimes like “parading” through the Capitol or briefly interrupting a meeting of Congress. Florida has seen more of its citizens arrested in the wake of the J6 protests than any other state, and it doesn’t seem like a coincidence that the arrests started after the USCP opened a satellite office in Florida.
The USCP says that they’re opening these satellite offices across the country because of threats against Members of Congress. Which threats? They never say. In fact, they use that excuse over and over again without ever providing any evidence to back it up. Maybe they should look into the fact that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has now been swatted in her home eight separate times. That’s apparently not the sort of “threat” they’re interested in.
Now the USCP is opening satellite offices in Texas, Milwaukee, and Boston. The same reason is given without evidence: threats against Congress.
When the USCP learns about a threat, they forward the information to the FBI, and then the FBI makes the arrests. Since that’s how the deal works, why does the FBI need the USCP in all these American cities?
The answer is incredibly sinister. The USCP is not subject to FOIA requests from the public or the media. They don’t have to share any internal emails, memos, or other documents about their activities. That seemed like an okay arrangement when they were restricted to only operating in Washington, DC. But no transparency means no congressional oversight, and that is the part that should scare every law-abiding american.
The US Capitol Police are operating as a Soviet-style secret police force when they are allowed to set up offices around the country that are not subject to public scrutiny. Nancy Pelosi started this secret police force which is being used to violate the civil liberties of Americans. Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy allowed it to continue. Will the latest Speaker, Mike Johnson, keep the secret police operating in American cities? His office is not responding to any calls about this issue.
