With a signed warrant handed over in advance, the FBI arrested journalist Steve Baker on March 1st in Dallas, Texas. Previously threatened through his attorney on November 21st, 2023, and December 23rd, 2023, this warning was worked more stringently. In a statement before being taken in, Baker was transparent with the situation.
“The prosecutor informed my attorney that I am to arrive at the @FBI field office wearing ‘shorts and sandals.’ They didn’t have to go this route, as we’ve been told that my charges are non-violent misdemeanors. My attorneys have also been assured by the gov. that this will be an ‘in and out’ affair and that they have ‘no intention’ of detaining me. But, rather than issuing a simple order to appear, they seem to feel the need to give me a dose of the personal humiliation treatment.”
Upon turning himself in, he was handcuffed, escorted into a dark SUV, and driven away. Not being told about the charges, non-violent misdemeanors like interstate racketeering and property damage are the most common guesses. This is the kind of embarrassment and public shaming that Baker doesn’t deserve.
Working as an independent journalist, Baker went to report on the events of the day. According to his recollection of the day, he didn’t engage in any property damage, and he entered well after both the Senate and House had been evacuated. This isn’t normal, and it is a great miscarriage of justice. Watching the Biden regime continue to persecute conservatives for simply trying to cover newsworthy events is horrific.
As a nation, we must ask why the President is allowed to send his Gestapo against an independent journalist for covering a piece of our nation’s history. Especially since they perpetually allow the liberal rioters to walk free from coast to coast. Even after these rioters each looted thousands of dollars from businesses small and large across the nation.
